Get Your Dreadlock Plan - Book the Right Service, First Time

Based in Brighton & Hove, South East UK. In-person services are carried out here, and consultations are available internationally. Quotes are given after your form and photos have been assessed.

For dreadlock extensions, reconstruction, repair, thinning hair, alopecia, and complex cases – your hair gets properly assessed before any service is booked.

Every dreadlock case is different.

Some people are starting fresh. Some want permanent extensions. Some have previous dreadlocks, major regrowth, repair needs, thinning areas, or fragile hairlines.

You don’t need to work out how complex your case is. That’s my job.

This page helps you choose the right consultation from the start.

Service Price Range Guide

Service prices vary depending on what your hair actually needs.

Smaller maintenance appointments may start from around £100. More complex work such as reconstruction, dreadlock extensions, corrective work, or specialist transformation work can range from the hundreds into the thousands.

In practice, cases can sit anywhere from around £100 to £2,000+, and some more advanced or multi-stage specialist work may go beyond that depending on the route, time, and level of support needed.

Final quotes are given after your form, photos, and assessment have been reviewed properly.

FAQs

How does the assessment process work?
The first step is to submit your assessment form with clear photos and notes about your hair, your goal, and what you think you may need. From there, I review your starting point properly and guide you towards the correct route, rather than asking you to guess before your hair has been assessed.
What if I’m not sure which consultation or route I need?
That is exactly why the assessment exists. You do not need to work out on your own whether you need maintenance, reconstruction, extensions, or a more advanced specialist consultation. Once I have reviewed your form and photos, I can guide you to the most appropriate next step for your hair.
Where are you based?
Dreadlocks by KNOT is based in Brighton & Hove, South East UK. In-person work is carried out here unless a specific arrangement has been agreed for travel or a home visit.
Do you travel or do home visits?
Yes, in some specific cases. Dreadlocks by KNOT can travel or come to your home where appropriate, but this depends on the type of work, the level of complexity, location, and whether the case is suitable for that arrangement. This is something that can be discussed after your assessment has been reviewed.
What if I live far away or outside the UK?
It is still important to get a proper assessment, wherever you are based. In some cases, I can guide you remotely and help you understand the safest route or what to look for in a local stylist. In other cases, especially reconstruction or more specialist corrective work, it can genuinely be worth the trip and the investment to make sure the work is started correctly. Later on, depending on the case, some ongoing maintenance may be possible closer to home.
How is the £120 Dreadlock Planning Consultation carried out?
This route is designed for fresh dreadlocks, extensions, reconstruction, repair, and more complex starting points that need proper planning before any service is booked. It is usually carried out through your form, photos, and message-based guidance. Where suitable, follow-up may happen through email or WhatsApp. If a deeper live consultation is needed, that moves into the advanced route.
How is the £199 Advanced Case Consultation carried out?
This is the deeper specialist route for thinning hair, alopecia, fragile hairlines, traction alopecia, sparse areas, and higher-risk cases. It includes a more protective level of assessment and may be carried out through a deeper WhatsApp review or Zoom consultation where needed, depending on the complexity of the case.
What are your rough service price ranges?
Prices vary depending on what your hair actually needs. Smaller maintenance appointments may start from around £100. Reconstruction, repair, dreadlock extensions, fresh dreadlocks, corrective work, or more specialist transformation work can range from the hundreds into the thousands. In practice, some cases may sit anywhere from around £100 to £2,000+, and certain more advanced or multi-stage cases can go beyond that. Final quotes are given after assessment.
Can you give me a quote before I fill in the form?
Not accurately. The whole point of the assessment is to understand what your hair, scalp, structure, and goals actually require before any quote is given. Without seeing your starting point properly, any number would be guesswork, and that usually creates more confusion rather than clarity.
Can you just continue another loctician’s work?
Sometimes yes, but not automatically. Existing dreadlocks often need to be looked at from a fresh perspective first, especially if there has been mixed maintenance, major regrowth, discomfort, breakage, or structural issues building over time. What looks like simple continuation can sometimes turn out to need a different plan.
Can you guarantee a specific result?
No ethical specialist should guarantee a specific result before assessing the hair properly. What I can do is assess your starting point carefully, explain what is realistically possible, and guide you towards the safest and most appropriate route for your hair.
